Sowers End of the Year 8th Grade Schedule
Monday, June 17: 8th Grade Knotts Berry Farm Trip (payment and permission slip must be on file with the office)
Tuesday, June 18: AM Promotion Practice at Edison High School (bus transportation provided by Sowers PTSA). Return to Sowers for afternoon 8th grade celebration!
Wednesday, June 19: NO SCHOOL
Thursday, June 20: Students attend school as usual. Students report to the Edison High School at 2:00pm wearing their red promotion gown. The Promotion Ceremony at Edison High School begins at 2:30.
Friday, June 21: Last Day of School! Afternoon Yearbook Signing and 8th Grade Picnic Celebration (hosted by Sowers PTSA)

PROMOTION
Families of Sowers 8th grade students,
We are beyond excited to be planning our promotion this year! The class of 2024 promotion is a great opportunity to celebrate our 8th graders and their success as students at Sowers. Our promotion will be one ceremony for the entire class and will be held at Edison High School. Even with our fundraisers during the course of this year, our promotion still has additional costs involved. While the school and PTSA are able to fund the necessities such as printed programs and decorations, we are asking for a small suggested donation of $45 from each student to help make the experience extra special for our promoting students.
Your $45 will help cover the costs of your student’s promotion package, which includes:
Red promotion gown (to be worn during the ceremony)
Sowers Beach Towel
Two photographers at promotion and digital link to all student photos
One Raffle Ticket for preferred seating**
Transportation to Edison for promotion rehearsal on Tuesday
8th grade celebration events including field day, picnic, photo stations, ice cream and more!
Staff lunch for promotion day
**Each family will automatically be entered into the raffle by purchasing the $45.00 package. You will also have the opportunity to purchase extra raffle tickets at $5.00 a ticket for extra chances at preferred seating. The PTSA will use a random number generator to select the winning family. One family of up to 6 people will be awarded preferred seating.
Promotion package of beach towel and gown will be distributed the beginning of June. More details to come.
